Marian Walhout

Program in Systems Biology, University of Massachusetts Medical School, Worcester (MA) US

Currently Walhout is co-director of the Program in Systems Biology at UMass Medical School, where her lab is also affiliated to the Program in Bioinformatics and Integrative Biology. Walhout lab uses a variety of experimental and computational systems biology approaches to map and characterize gene regulatory networks and to understand how regulatory circuitry controls animal development, function, and homeostasis. Ultimately, they aim to understand how dysfunctional networks affect or cause diseases like diabetes, obesity and cancer.

Walhout is member of the Center for Cancer Systems Biology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
