Jordi Garcia-Ojalvo

Department of Experimental and Health Sciences, Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona ES

The lab of Jordi Garcia-Ojalvo at the Department of Experimental and Health Sciences of the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF), is devoted to study the dynamics of nonlinear and stochastic systems, with a specific emphasis of the implications of dynamical behavior in neuronal and cellular systems. The phenomena that his lab studies include synchronization, noise-induced phenomena, pattern formation, excitability, and limit-cycle behavior, among others. The living systems whose behavior the lab examines include bacteria, stem cells, the

immune system, and the brain. In these systems the lab explores processes such as gene regulation, intra- and inter-cellular signaling, cortical oscillations, and information processing.
Since the beginning of his career, Jordi has been an active researcher in non-lineal and statistical physics, systems biology and systems neuroscience, as well as professor at the Universitat Polit├Ęcnica de Catalunya and the UPF.
