Siegal´s talk highlights (Session 6)
Should I? it´s the question that organism have to ask themselves all the time. With that question about decision making in biological systems Mark Siegal started his talk. After a brief introduction to bet-hedging systems in bacteria, he moved to eukaryotic cells to show his findings about a putative bet-hedging system in yeast that involves a stress protectant protein (TSLI). They found proteins co-fluctuating with TSL1 and a candidate pathway for this bet-hedging system: the MSN2/4 stress response pathway.
